Randy Miller Given the Order of the Long Leaf Pine Award

The Governor of NC awarded Randy Miller with the Order of the Long Leaf Pine on May 6, 2017. The Order of the Long Leaf Pine Award, the highest civilian award in the state of NC, was first given in 1963 to honor people who made significant contributions throughout NC by way of exemplary service and outstanding accomplishments.

Randy earned this prestigious award along with Dennis Lane and Kim Swinson by working on the charitable contributions for the Raleigh Police Memorial Foundation. Founded in 2009 by active and retired Raleigh Police Officers, the foundation is dedicated to honoring the lives of Raleigh Police Officers who have given their lives in the line of duty. The Raleigh Police Memorial Foundation supports Law Enforcement United and the Concerns of Police Survivors (COPS) Family and Kids Camp. COPS Kids Camp is for children of law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty. At camp, children and their parent/ guardian participate in typical camp activities along with grief counseling. Both Law Enforcement United and COPS provide programs and services for the families who are survivors of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty.

Congratulations Randy; we are grateful for your more than ten years of charitable service to law enforcement communities throughout North Carolina.
